Council
of Latvian American Organizations in New York, Inc.
The mission of Council of American Latvian
Organizations in New York, Inc. (CALONY) is to: provide a forum for New York
area Latvian-American organizations to coordinate their events and activities;
as well as to promote the further development of the Latvian community in the
New York area. Annually the CALONY organizes a Latvian Independence Day
(November 18) program and concert, the New York Latvian Cultural
Days (held in January and February) and other events. The member organizations
of the CALONY choose delegates to its annual meeting (held in late March), which
elects the board, officers and audit committee of the CALONY.
