The Daugavas Vanagi House (or DV House) is located in the western part of the Bronx in New York City, which is to the northeast of the island of Manhattan.

Within the Daugavas Vanagi House are several halls suitable for events and receptions, a social club downstairs, the offices of the Baltic Association to the UN (BATUN). and the New York Latvian Society. Until fall of 2005, it also housed the ALA Ethnographic Collection museum

Driving directions to the Daugavas Vanagi House:

The Daugavas Vanagi House is located in the western part of the Bronx in New York City, which is to the northeast of the island of Manhattan. From the Major Deegan Expressway (Interstate 87) take the Fordham Road exit. Turn uphill onto Fordham Road, (do NOT take the bridge over the Harlem River into Manhattan). Drive uphill, past the Toyota dealership, till you get to the traffic light at Sedgewick Avenue. Turn right onto Sedgewick Avenue and drive uphill till the first intersection whic is West 183rd Street. Turn left onto West 183rd Street and drive a short distance till you see a red brick fence on the left around a three story brick house. Go through the gate to enter the DV House parking lot. The adress is 115 West 183 Street.

Public transportation directions to the Daugavas Vanagi House:

4 Subway lineFrom New York City (Manhattan) the closest Subway station is the 183 Street stop on the #4 line (Lexington Avenue Express to Woodlawn Road). Then after going down the stairs from the elevated subway station you will have to walk up West 183rd Street going west. Make sure you are walking up West (NOT East) 183rd Street, as Jerome Ave, where the elevated subway runs is the dividing line between East and West. Walking up West 183rd Street, you will cross Davidson Ave, Grand Ave, Aqueduct Ave, University Ave, Andrews Ave, and Loring Place. After crossing Loring Place you will see a red brick three story building, with a red brick fence around it. This will be 115 West 183rd Street, which is the DV House.

D Subway lineThe second closest Subway station is the 182-183 Street stop on the D line. After going up to the street, which is the Grand Concourse, walk down East 183rd Street going west. Make sure the house numbers are getting smaller. Along the way you will cross Creston Ave, Morris Ave, and Walton Ave. When you get to Jerome Ave, follow directions from the #4 train stop in the previous paragraph.
